U Sathorn Bangkok is sanctuary in a quiet area of lower Sathorn where natural beauty can still be seen in this busy district of Bangkok. With 78 rooms in low rise buildings set in a courtyard styled surround with large pond and spacious gardens with a swimming pool in the centre. The overall design of the urban resort is strongly influenced from encompassing a Thai feel together the influences of Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. The design will break down the barriers between inside and outside, between interior design and landscape architecture and reduce buildings to a series of blended spaces separated by courtyards and gardens.

The hotel will feature a Brasserie influenced restaurant and a wine bar located adjacent to the swimming pool in the lobby building. Other facilities include The Reading Room, U Spa with four treatment rooms, a large and extensive fitness centre catered to external guests as well as hotel guests.

Conference and meeting facilities are set in a separate building with a covered walkway from the lobby. There is a large function room that can cater up to 250 guests and two meeting rooms for 60 guests each plus one boardroom. In addition, private lawn areas will be created for outdoor events.

U Inchantree Kanchanaburi will be a real boutique resort with a river lodge feel located on the north bank of the river close to River Kwai Bridge. The 34 rooms in the two-storey building will be set around a courtyard dominated by an ancient “Inchantree” from which the resort derives its name. Overall design of the resort will be of a rustic style surrounded by landscaped gardens.

A newly added semi open restaurant will be located adjacent to the swimming pool that will have spectacular views of the River Kwai together with a sunset terrace lounge suspended over the edge of the river where guests can watch kingfishers darting over the water and trains rumbling over the River Kwai Bridge. There are also meeting rooms for small group meetings plus pre function area. Other services and facilities include free Wi-Fi, a gym, a library with an internet station for guest use.

SPA+A Company have been appointed to work on the architectural and interior designs for both U Sathorn and the restoration of U Inchantree Kanchanaburi. Recently the company, SPA+A was recognized with the Historical Architectural Conservation Awards 2009 from The Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage for their design accent in successfully restoring and conserving the past structures for U Chiang Mai. This time again, the team will definitely bring out the U Hotels & Resorts brand vision and essence on the design for the projects.
