SINA Fine Italian Hotels announces the opening of the new hotel in Venice

Historical palace with direct access on Canal Grande, contemporary style with a fine venetian touch, accurate restoration for the transformation into a de luxe hotel, view of S. Marco: these the main characteristics of the new Centurion Palace, the hotel that SINA Fine Italian Hotels just opened in Venice.

“We are particularly proud to announce the opening of Centurion Palace, the new jewel of the family, which represents a precious gift for the 50th anniversary of our group” – stated Bernabò Bocca, President of SINA Fine Italian Hotels.

The new Centurion Palace is housed in the well known Palazzo Genovese, in the artistic area of Dorsoduro, besides the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, between Punta della Dogana and the Peggy Guggenheim Museum.

Acquired by SINA Fine Italian Hotels, the Palace dates back to the nineteenth century and has been accurately restored following the project by Arch. Luciano Parenti, from Venice: during the works, an ancient coin with the image of Antinoo, friend of Emperor Adriano, was found, testifying the close connection between Venice and the ancient Rome.

Inside the palace, the creativity and talent of Arch. Guido Ciompi, from Florence, made possible the union of the classical and contemporary style, according to what already done at The Gray in Milan, but with a unique touch for Venice.

“The Centurion Palace recalls the idea of the door to the East, with its particular areas, the precious fabrics and materials, the special colours” – said Matilde Salvo Bocca, Vice President of SINA Fine Italian Hotels, who followed the project with care – “A creation unique and original where the connection with the water is important”.

From Canal Grande it is possible seeing the colors alternating in a symmetric way in the entire hotel: chocolate, orange, red and white for a picturesque view from the windows. From the jetty on Canal Grande the entrance to the lobby, with a crystal chandelier representing a gondola, with direct access to the garden with bamboo and ivy and to the bar and restaurant “Antinoo”: here a special frame makes the bar a picture to admire while sitting on the wavy sofa and the white color illuminates the restaurant with direct access from the canal.

Above, the 3 floors with the 50 rooms and suites, all different one from the other, with unique views including the presidential suite, the biggest in town facing Canal Grande: particular the furniture, that has been created for the hotel using different materials, details like fireplaces and paneled ceilings, the wooden staircases in the two levels suites, the attics where to admire Venice like in a picture, the windows with different shapes, the precious materials for the floor, the bathrooms where golden leaves cover the walls thanks to a special technique.

Meeting rooms and fitness complete the services, under the supervision of the General Manager Paolo Morra, to make the Centurion Palace a point of reference in Venice.

Presided over by Bernabò Bocca and his sister Matilde Salvo Bocca, Sina Fine Italian Hotels was fonde in 1958 by Count Ernesto Bocca nel 1958. Together with the new Centurion Palace the hotels belonging to SINA are: Grand Hotel Villa Medici a Firenze, recently renovated, featuring a beautiful garden with pool in the center; Hotel Bernini Bristol in the heart of Rome, featuring a great roof restaurant; Palazzo Sant’ Angelo on Canal Grande in Venice; Hotel De la Ville, closet o the Theatre La Scala in Milan and The Gray, a touch of design in Milan; Hotel Brufani Palace, luxurious hotel in Perugia; Palace Maria Luigia appreciated for its gourmet restaurant in Parma; Hotel Astor in Viareggio in front of the sea; Relais Villa Matilde, a noble residence of the XVIII century, close to Turin.
