Distinguished International(R) Hotels, Residences and Resorts is pleased to welcome the Mount Falcon Country House Hotel in West Ireland, as the newest member of its international properties.

Located in County Mayo between Foxford and Ballina, this estate property sits on 100 acres with the offering of a four-star hotel, a fishery and 3 & 4 bedroom self-catering luxury suites spread among three idyllic sites on the property: the Lakeside, Courtyard and Woodlands.

Commissioned by a young man for the love of his new bride in 1876, the original palatial country house was designed by Ireland's finest architect at the time, James Franklin Fuller. In 1932, Major and Constance Aldridge purchased the Mount Falcon home and ran it season after season as a well renowned fishing and shooting lodge.

In 2002 the Estate was purchased by a group of new owners, including the Maloney Family, who are from the area and meticulously restored the property to reflect much of its original historical charm for its reopening in 2006.

Today, Mount Falcon Country House Hotel boasts 32 luxurious rooms and suites beautifully appointed with many original features such as 15 foot high ceilings, original marble fireplaces, cornices, servant bell ringers, pitch pine floor boards and shutters. The ensuite bathrooms have been carefully designed many of which feature cast iron bathtubs and marble top vanities. Forty-five self-catering suites offer guests an alternative to enjoy the magical experience of these Estate grounds.

Restaurant facilities: the hotel's restaurant was awarded 2 AA Rosettes in 2008, a testament to the highest of standards upheld by its chef and his team, both in the quality of its produce and the delectable creations served to their guests. Appropriately named the 'Kitchen Restaurant' for it occupies the same kitchen and pantry areas of the original house, the dining experience is one of intimacy yet in a friendly atmosphere. Many arrive early to have a drink by the log fire in the 'Boathole Bar', located in one of the original entertainment rooms of the house, before proceeding for dinner.

Activities: fishing and golf are the main two activities found at the Mount Falcon Estate. Throughout its history, Mount Falcon House has been inextricably linked to the River Moy and salmon fishing with 2 miles of the river running through the property. The mixed fishery for both spring and summer fishing, offers shallow and deep pools for all types of angling methods. For the golf aficionados, there are 12 golf courses to choose from within a 30 mile radius including three championship links courses: Enniscrone, Cairne-Belmullet and Rosses Point.

Spa & Leisure: fully equipped with gym, sauna, steam room and a pool that extends into the beautiful woodlands, the Leisure Centre is a perfect complement to the hotel's facilities. The Elemis Spa caters to bringing the ultimate in relaxation and rejuvenation to the body and mind, and offers a wide range of treatments from massage, to facials and body scrubs using the finest of products.

Conferences, Special Events & Weddings: the hotel is completely equipped to receive corporate groups and conferences, with four state-of-the-art meeting rooms to choose from and provides an ideal setting to mix country relaxation with work. It is a premium destination for summer and winter weddings where the most romantic of intimate and secluded surroundings provides the backdrop for a fairytale wedding.

The three closest airports are: Ireland West Airport Knock (30 minute drive), Galway Airport (1.5 hours drive) and Sligo Airport (1 hour drive). The property also has a helipad.
