The spa experience has a long standing history in Canada’s National Parks. The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is pleased to announce it has started construction today on its’ Fairmont Spa - the Rocky Mountain’s latest spa offering. The $6.7-million, 10,000 square foot spa at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge draws inspiration from the natural surroundings of Jasper National Park.
“This spa will be an oasis for our guests and heighten the experience of their stay at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge,” said Amanda Robinson, General Manager of The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. “When designing the spa, the creative team drew inspiration from the natural beauty of the rivers, the peacefulness of the valleys, the calmness of the alpine meadows and the stillness of the mountains.”
Situated on the promenade level of the Main Lodge, the spa is the final oasis of relaxation and rejuvenation. The entrance will have a water feature that flows over undulating, tiered natural rock reminiscent of what is seen at Athabasca Falls. This feature will be flanked by sleek wood panels with the effect being peaceful and relaxing as you ease into the spa experience. As you walk along the corridors of the spa the walls have been designed to have a raw sculpted “heart pine” panels placed in intermittent groups. This is designed to represent the tree line routes that bring visitors to Jasper National Park.
Spa guests will unwind in the Great Room as they prepare for their treatment. Surrounded by club chairs and a sofa, the colors of the room are inspired by the mountain ranges that surround the Lodge. Guests will find 10 treatment rooms (including a couples room), steam rooms, fitness facility, and an outdoor pool area.
