Oh, How They Grow!
When summer's at its peak, it's nearly impossible to keep kids indoors. With sprinklers to run through during the day and fireflies to chase at dusk, they've got a pretty full al fresco agenda.
Two exciting programs have sprouted up at Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara to help parents fill kids' weekends with outdoor activities that also involve growth. That's right; children can spend precious time outside while they acquire new skills in gardening!
Ready, Set, Grow runs every Friday as a kick-off to the weekend. Led by the renowned Kids For All Seasons team, children gather on the Resort's lawn to learn how to plant a native California poppy in miniature terra cotta pots. Next, they get to paint and personalise their pots as they learn about how to care for their poppy and watch it bloom back at home.
On Saturdays, it's Summer in the Garden, where a chef guides kids through the Resort’s expansive herb garden and explains how each fragrant plant is used in their favourite meals. The children then select and pick herbs to create their own herb-infused olive oil.
