Hotel Nikko San Francisco announces Bokin Campaign to assist Red Cross Emergency Relief Efforts in Japan (Japon)

In partnership with American Red Cross, luxury hotel will match guest donations and give portion of restaurant’s revenue to support emergency relief efforts in Japan now through May 31, 2011
Located in Union Square, The Hotel Nikko San Francisco has launched a comprehensive three-pronged campaign to assist the American Red Cross’ emergency relief efforts in Japan, where more than 10,000 have died due to the massive earthquake and tsunami.
The Bokin Red Cross Campaign, with the word “bokin” translating to “charitable donation” in Japanese, allows guests and epicureans to experience the luxury hotel while supporting relief efforts in Japan in three inviting ways:
Bokin Red Cross Room Rate – Starting at $199 plus tax, this room package includes a $5 dollar surcharge which the hotel matches to produce a $10 donation for every night stayed at the world-class property. Established in February 2010 to provide ongoing support for the American Red Cross, funds raised by through this room package are now ear-marked for relief efforts in Japan.
Four-Course Bokin Dinner Menu – Executive Chef Philippe Striffeler, who led the United States team to win the silver medal at the Taipei World Culinary Contest in 2009, presents a delicious four-course Cal-Asian dinner in acclaimed Anzu Restaurant for $48 plus tax and gratuity. Guests can enjoy the dinner paired with wine for $65 plus tax and gratuity. Hotel Nikko will donate 10 percent of the revenue from the Bokin menu, which will change monthly, to the American Red Cross. Anzu serves dinner nightly from 5:30 to 10 p.m. and breakfast and lunch daily.
The Bokin Incentive – The Hotel Nikko San Francisco will match any guest’s donation to the American Red Cross. Donation bowls are located in the hotel’s lobby.
“Hotel Nikko is dedicated to assisting relief efforts in Japan and we encourage guests and the community to help us make a difference. Because our colleagues have so many family members and friends in Japan, this issue could not be of more importance to our hotel,” states General Manager and Vice President Anna Marie Presutti.
In 2010, Hotel Nikko San Francisco received the “Community Service Award” from the California Hotel & Lodging Association and the “Community Spirit Award” from the Hotel Council of San Francisco for its compassionate support of the local community.
