InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms, has named Robert B. Hill General Manager for the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin in Austin, Texas.
As General Manager, InterContinental Stephen F. Austin, Mr. Hill has full responsibility for the financial performance, service quality and overall operations of the hotel. A 17-year veteran in the hospitality industry, Mr. Hill most recently comes from the InterContinental Chicago where he served as Hotel Manager since 2002. Prior to that, he served as Executive Assistant Manager at the Willard InterContinental in Washington D.C., and an Operations Analyst at InterContinental Hotels Group Americas Headquarters office in Atlanta. Mr. Hill has also held positions at InterContinental properties in Miami, Maui and London. He is a native of Limerick, Ireland and graduated from the prestigious Shannon College of Hotel Management.

The InterContinental Stephen F. Austin is one Austin’s historic gems, originally opening in 1924 and re-opening in 2000 after a multi-million dollar renovation. Known as the “Stephen F.” by locals, the hotel has been a key part of the social scene for legislators, business people and educators for more than sixty years. Located four blocks from the State Capitol in the heart of the central business district, the hotel has 189 spacious guest rooms and suites with views of the city. Guests can enjoy events in the spectacular Capital Ballroom, with French Doors opening onto a private terrace, or drinks at Stephen F.’s Bar, with Austin’s only outdoor terrace overlooking historic Congress Avenue.
