The St. Regis Shenzhen Now the World’s Tallest St. Regis Hotel and One of the Tallest Buildings in China

St. Regis® Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. (NYSE: HOT), announces today the highly anticipated opening of The St. Regis Shenzhen, now the world’s tallest St. Regis hotel and the tallest building in the city. Following recent openings in Bangkok, Tianjin and Sanya Yalong Bay, The St. Regis Shenzhen marks the brand’s fourth hotel opening in Asia this year with additional plans to debut globally with The St. Regis Doha, The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, The St. Regis Mauritius Resort, The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort and the newly renovated St. Regis Aspen Resort, in the next six months.

“The opening of The St. Regis Shenzhen represents a significant moment for St. Regis, as the brand continues to grow globally in destinations designed for the new generation of affluent travelers,” says Paul James, Global Brand Leader St. Regis and The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts. “We are eager to debut The St. Regis Shenzhen to both international travelers and the local community,” continues General Manager Stephen Ford. “With our superb location, sophisticated service and refined elegance, we look forward to offering guests an unparalleled experience both befitting of the destination and true to the St. Regis legacy.”

Designed by famed architect Sir Terry Farrell with the finest finishes, The St. Regis Shenzhen in Kingkey 100 is destined to become one of the defining silhouettes on the city’s dynamic skyline, occupying the top 28 floors of the 100-story landmark building. The St. Regis Shenzhen will offer guests a new dimension of luxury with 257 sumptuously appointed guest rooms and 40 suites with spectacular views of the city. The hotel will feature a sprawling Iridium Spa, a collection of world class restaurants and lounges and will be the first hotel in the Shenzhen to offer the legendary signature St. Regis Butler Service to all guests.

“Opening The St Regis Shenzhen atop the city’s tallest building is perfect way to introduce the iconic St. Regis brand to one of China’s most modern cities,” said Qian Jin, Senior Vice President of Operations, Greater China, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. “As Shenzhen continues to emerge as an international destination, discerning travelers and the city’s social set will welcome the bespoke service and beyond expectation experiences that only St. Regis can offer.”

Luxury Accommodations & Service
The St. Regis Shenzhen combines sophisticated luxury with the cosmopolitan energy of the city. Ranging in size from 40 to 325 square meters, each guest room and suite is exquisitely styled and lavishly appointed, providing travelers with a unique luxurious respite from the hectic urban pace. The 257 guest rooms and 40 suites are meticulously designed blending contemporary décor and the intricate detailing, each with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views of the city. The guest rooms feature luxurious beds with sumptuous 300-count Egyptian linens, lush bath towels and robes, flat screen cable televisions and wireless internet access. Additionally, The St. Regis Shenzhen will be the first hotel in the city to provide fully customized iPad2 remote controls in each room allowing guests to easily connect and manage all of the room’s amenities.

Following the tradition of the legendary St. Regis New York, The St. Regis Shenzhen will feature the famed hallmark of St. Regis hotels – signature St. Regis Butler Service – which offers unparalleled round-the-clock personal attention to every guest. Trained in the English tradition, the butlers provide ever-present yet unobtrusive service while anticipating residents’ needs.

Exquisite Culinary Experiences
A wide array of world-class restaurants and lounges are situated on the top floors of The St. Regis Shenzhen where breathtaking views accompany exceptional cuisine. Each with its unique setting, distinct ambience and outstanding menus, the collection of culinary venues promise to surpass the discerning tastes of St. Regis guests and local residents alike.

Located on the 96th floor, The St. Regis Bar and the Drawing Room bring back the hotel glamour of the early 20th century with classic cocktails and the enduring tradition of St. Regis’ Signature Afternoon Tea. On the 95th floor Social offers all day dining featuring international cuisine and endless views in a lively atmosphere and Elba, on the 99th floor, offers authentic Mediterranean dining and fine wines in an elegant, warm atmosphere with panoramic views. Decanter, on the 100th floor, is a sky-high urban wine bar offering Shenzhen’s largest selection of wines and a private tasting room for small gatherings. The penthouse level houses Malt and Library, a unique whisky and cigar bar featuring an extensive menu of single malts served with exquisite Cubans and never-ending views.

Shenzhen’s First Iridium Spa
Exclusive to St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, Iridium Spa complements The St. Regis Shenzhen with the bespoke touches of a rare spa experience and treatments tailored to guests’ elemental needs, as precious as the metal for which the spa is named. Building on a legacy that dates back to 1938 and the grand opening of The Iridium Room at The St. Regis New York, Iridium Spa articulates the same distinctive elegance—both in the enthralling design of its treatment suites and in thoughtful gestures like a signature tea ritual. Located on the 75th floor, the 700 square meters Iridium Spa at The St. Regis Shenzhen will feature eight treatment suites, including two large couples suites and a Vichy Shower suite. Just adjacent to the spa, a stunning 28-meter indoor infinity pool seems to “spill” out over the city with a spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows and a tranquil ambience. Guests of Iridium leave their watches and communication devices in a secure vessel upon arrival before being escorted on a transformative journey that bestows the rarest luxury of all: Time.

Elevating Business Meetings & Special Events
An epicenter for finance, technology and trade, Shenzhen is emerging as one of China’s most cosmopolitan and affluent cities making The St. Regis Shenzhen the perfect hub for business travelers. With an address that defines stature and social distinction, The St. Regis Shenzhen is poised to become the city’s leading venue for corporate gatherings, high society galas and high-profile events. The hotel offers 2,100 square meters of meeting and function space, including a beautiful ballroom and eight separate event rooms with versatile layouts and state-of-the-art amenities.

Superb Location in Shenzhen’s Financial and Retail Center
Located in the heart of the Caiwuwei financial district, The St. Regis Shenzhen is just an elevator ride away from the most luxury shopping on the lower floors of the Kingkey 100. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange and the Di Wang building are only a short walk from the hotel as well as the Da Ju Yuan Metro Station, which offers quick access to the rest of the city. Shenzhen Baoan International Airport is a short drive from the hotel, with hundreds of flights weekly to China, Asia and dozens of international cities.
