‘Business as usual’ is assured as trendsetting boutique hotel JIA Hong Kong, which marked French design guru Philippe Starck’s hospitality design debut in Asia, is being re-launched under a new name ‘J Plus Boutique Hotel’ from early May.

New owner CSI Properties Limited, the parent company of the luxury lifestyle residential developer Couture Homes, maintains J Plus Boutique Hotel will continue the acclaimed, multi-award winning concept of its predecessor in buzzing Causeway Bay. Vivian Chau, General Manager, states: “The property continues to retain the sophistication, cutting edge design and sleek service for which it is renowned. Our vision is to embrace the concept on which it was founded and build a new brand that recognizes the integrity with which the hotel holds.”

The celebrated address is maintaining its focus as a chic “home from home” for the fashionable travelling crowd, with its new name J Plus Boutique Hotel being officially launched in early May 2012.

With 56 ‘homely’ guest rooms and suites designed to more closely resemble trendy apartments than hotel rooms, the hotel is famed for Philippe Starck’s signature, sleek interior design twinned with ultra-modern amenities for fast-living professionals and style-conscious travelers.

Studios of 380 sq ft and one-bedroom suites of 780 sq ft featuring designer fixtures are clearly defined into living, dining and working areas with the use of sheer curtains.

Fully equipped kitchens and ultra-sleek bathrooms with luxury toiletries are in Arabescato cor marble. High-tech features include flat screen TVs that revolve 180 degrees, surround sound, home theatres and free broadband.

Guests can entertain or just enjoy the outdoors on a second floor sundeck and podium.

Among minor changes to the new-look hotel, the top floor penthouse has been converted into conference and fitness facilities.

J Plus enjoys a stellar fine dining reputation headlined by Italian restaurant, The Drawing Room. With Master Chef, Roland Schuller, at the helm, The Drawing Room catapulted into the top of Hong Kong’s fine dining league when it opened in 2009. It continues as the signature standard-bearer of fine dining, in a homely ambience showcasing contemporary artworks, a unique ‘Home Delivery’ room service concept reflects the hotel’s relaxed atmosphere – allowing guests to enjoy local specialties delivered to their room as if they were ordering takeaways from home.

The hotel collected a host of awards in its ‘previous life’, including one of the five best boutique hotels in Greater China (The Independent, London). Other awards include: Leading Boutique Hotel by World Travel Awards 2007, Best Design Boutique Hotel in China by Starlight Awards 2007, Nominated as Best Design & Citywide/Regional Awards by International Restaurant and Hotel Awards 2008, 1st Runner-up of Best Brand Experience (Boutique Hotel category) by AdAsia Readership Travel Survey 2008 and Fodor’s 100 Hotel Awards - Design Category in November 2011. The hotel was also voted by Tripadvisor readers as one of the trendiest hotels in Hong Kong/ China in January 2012.

J Plus Boutique Hotel is located at 1-5 Irving Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
