Hotel sales and marketing alliance announces new members in Italy, Tanzania, Portugal, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam

Great Hotels of the World (http://www.ghotw.com), the London-based hotel sales and marketing alliance, is pleased to confirm that a number of new members from around the globe have been added to its collection. Furthermore, these include the first properties in Tanzania and Vietnam to be part of the alliance.

Great Hotels of the World Luxury Collection – for the most luxurious hotels in the world

Hotel Brunelleschi, Florence, Italy

Situated in the centre of Florence's historic district and overlooking Brunelleschi's Cathedral, Hotel Brunelleschi is the perfect property from which to explore Florence’s culture and history. This stunning hotel boasts 95 spacious guestrooms and suites, some of which overlook the lively commercial street of Via dei Calzolari or the picturesque square, Piazzetta del Giglio.

For gourmet lovers, guests can enjoy traditional Italian cuisine in either of the hotel’s gourmet restaurants. Restaurant Santa Elisabetta is run by creative head chef, Simone Bertaccini, and is partly hidden in a quiet corner of the original Byzantine tower of Hotel Brunelleschi. Guests can also sample Tuscan flavours at Osteria della Pagliazza, which only uses fresh, locally-grown produce in its dishes. The hotel also features an American lounge bar and its own museum, where guests can learn about the property’s deep rooted history. Lake Duluti Lodge, Arusha, Tanzania

Just ten minutes out of Arusha town, on the shores of Lake Duluti, Lake Duluti Lodge is one of the finest countryside retreats and lodges in Tanzania. Set on the grounds of a coffee farm, the property features 18 spacious and modern chalets, offering breathtaking scenery in an idyllic setting. The romantic chalets are decorated in a traditional African style and offer luxury amenities and comforts, private decks and deeply personalised services.

Lake Duluti Lodge offers guests an intimate atmosphere in the heart of one of Tanzania's most famous regions. The lodge boasts an outdoor swimming pool and several activities and excursions are on offer. The eco-friendly hotel can arrange canoeing trips on Lake Duluti, hiking in the Great Duluti Forest, bird watching, cultural tourism tours, coffee and vegetable farm tours and more. Its restaurant serves modern African cuisine with an international twist, using locally sourced produce from the lodge’s own vegetable garden.

The Elephant Corridor, Sigiriya, Sri Lanka

The Elephant Corridor is a unique luxury boutique property situated between the Minneriya and Sigiriya National Parks. The hotel is built on an actual elephant corridor and boasts 22 superb suites, including one villa, spread over the grounds of the property and surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife. Guests can enjoy sumptuous cuisine at the Ambrosia Restaurant or experience specially organised dining options, such as a star-gazing dinner, lunch by the riverside, and more.

Wild elephants are a common sight at the hotel. Guests may find them wandering in the lobby or through the hotel’s paths – a truly unique experience. Facilities at The Elephant Corridor include the Om Wellness Spa, which boasts a variety of rejuvenating treatments including traditional Ayurveda. Also onsite is the Fables and Tales Library bar, the Ebony and Ivory Jungle bar, a swimming pool, fitness centre, business and conference centre and a gift shop. The eco-friendly hotel also provides a beautiful setting and personalised services for weddings. A wide choice of outdoor activities are available including elephant rides, nature walks, snake charming, archery, cycling and horse-riding.

Porto Palacio Congress Hotel & Spa, Porto, Portugal

Located in the heart of Porto's business district with easy access to the international airport and highway, Porto Palacio Congress Hotel & Spa is an ideal setting for both leisure and business travellers. The property boasts 251 rooms, including 18 suites and 42 executive rooms, which are located on the top floors and offer great views of Porto. In addition, the hotel contains four restaurants - Salsa & Loureiro, serving traditional Portuguese cuisine, Porto Beer, a beer hall and restaurant featuring live music, Góshò, a Japanese and Asian-fusion restaurant and Madruga, which specialises in breakfast.

Hotel Barcelo Sancti Petri, Cadiz, Spain

Surrounded by 8km of sand dunes, beaches and pine forest nature reserves, Hotel Barcelo Sancti Petri is a luxury seafront hotel on Costa de la Luz. The hotel boasts 195 rooms including four suites, all with stunning views of the sea or tropical gardens. Guests can enjoy the hotel’s three restaurants and bars, an Irish pub with bowling alleys, beach club and the largest spa in Andalucía, which boasts a hydrotherapy circuit, indoor heated pool, gym and jacuzzis. There are 11 golf courses located near to the property and activities such as water sports, horse riding, quad biking and tennis can also be arranged.

The hotel has a Roman Amphitheatre for groups and events, which can seat 500 people. The Amphitheatre shares its space with the hotel’s large 30,000sqm tropical gardens and three outdoor swimming pools, providing a gorgeous setting for events. Other meeting facilities include a convention centre, which can be split into three meeting rooms, catering for up to 300 delegates. Due to its privileged location, the hotel is also ideal for incentives as they can offer cultural day trips to Cadiz, Seville, Cordoba and Morocco.

The Windsor Plaza Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Ideally situated in the heritage quarter of old Saigon, Windsor Plaza Hotel is located just 25 minutes from Tan Son Nhat international airport. Combining Vietnamese hospitality with the latest technology and numerous commercial and cultural offerings, the hotel boasts 386 spacious guestrooms and suites, all featuring stunning views of Cholon, the city's historic Chinatown. In addition, the hotel provides a variety of meeting spaces with a 1500sqm ballroom, perfect for galas and weddings and a banqueting hall.
