Viceroy Hotel Group announces the appointment of Spencer Yeo as General Manager of Viceroy Istanbul to commence January 1st, 2013. Yeo will oversee all pre-opening activities of the hotel, as well as eventual operations of the outstanding 14-acre property, which is scheduled to debut in 2014.

Yeo takes his new role in Turkey after 3 years as hotel manager of the group’s Five Star, Five Diamond property, L’Ermitage Beverly Hills. A 19-year veteran of the luxury hospitality business, his career has been spent with some of the world’s most renowned brands such as Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula and Intercontinental as well as diverse regions including Nairobi, Egypt, London and Washington, DC.
Viceroy Istanbul, a luxury hillside estate overlooking the Bosporus, is scheduled to open in early 2014. Spread across ten separate buildings and over 14 acres of land, the 66 guest rooms and suites will boast spectacular panoramic views of the Bosporus strait, the boundary between Europe and Asia, and the estate’s tranquil outdoor parkland and gardens. The hotel will offer luxury services including a casual and signature restaurant, banquet and meeting facilities, a state-of-the-art full service fitness center, full service spa and outdoor pool and sun lounge. The property, which dates back to the Ottoman Empire, will occupy a former monastery nestled in the hillside in Bebeköy. Uniquely located in one of the most exclusive districts of the city with easy access to the entertainment and business hubs, Viceroy Istanbul is a mere two minute drive from Bebek, famous for its marina on the Bosporus, waterfront cafes, restaurants and shops. The area caters to an urban lifestyle that is rich in history, culture, architecture and art.
