Polonia Palace Hotel, one of the most traditional first class hotels in Poland, is celebrating 93rd Grand Opening Anniversary. A Birthday Cocktail will take place in the Ludwikowska Restaurant on 20th July 2006 at 7 pm. One of the most popular fashion designers in Poland, Izabela Łapińska, will present her unique collection, inspired by the old masters paintings, classical music, everyday life and women in the streets. The models will move on the catwalk accompanied by the smooth tones of the live harp and flute music. The Fashion Show held in the picturesque interiors of the Ludwikowska Hall, combined with fresh flowers and candle lights will allow all guests to come back to the glorious times of 1913.
During this special evening Polonia Palace Hotel will greet its loyal guests, artists, diplomats and celebrities. A breathtaking Birthday Cake prepared by Polonia Palace Hotel Chef de Cuisine - Andrzej Polan - will be the highlight of the evening.
And in the past...
Polonia Palace Hotel was always the integral part of the Warsaw's 20th century history. Opened on 14 July 1913, it introduced for the first time a Parisian style to the city. The building looked as if it was transferred from the center of Paris with its mansard roofs and rich interiors in the "Louis" style. Right within the "Golden Twenties" in 1924 the exquisite restaurant, called "Palais-Dancing" (todays Ludwikowska Restaurant), was opened. This was one of the major events among the Warsaw society, and it soon became one of the most popular and most fashionable places, where well-known names of that time used to be frequent guests: General Dwight Eisenhower, Charles de Gaulle, Adolf Dymsza, Kornel Makuszyński, Stefan Żeromski, Julian Tuwim. The famous Polish actor and singer Jan Kiepura used to give concerts from the hotel restaurant's balcony during dinner banquets.
Polonia Palace Hotel has welcomed guests from around the world, including famous artists, writers, celebrities and diplomats, for more than 90 years. Its splendor and elegance created the trends of fashion for many generations. While celebrating our Birthday, we would like to continue this great tradition.
