Two years later, the second round of upgrading works is now underway. Construction and modernisations have been ongoing for just under three months. The investment budget for the hotel's new look is €3.5 million.
The Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Frankfurt am Main is ISO 14001 certified and very much aware of its responsibilities with regard to environmental sustainability. This philosophy and the hotel's proximity to nature is referenced thematically in its new Urban Style Business Rooms. The small wild boars now adorning the pillows and decor pay homage to the nearby City Forest.
A special feature at Frankfurt Airport is the hotel's own newly constructed Aviation Lounge by Steigenberger available for the use of travelling airline staff free of charge. Business work stations provide a high-quality atmosphere and offer ideal conditions for team meetings and individual working. In addition to all this, the Steigenberger Airport Hotel remains the only hotel at Frankfurt Airport with its own swimming pool.
Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, commented: "'Aviation Lounge by Steigenberger' terms our new crew lounge concept. In the next stage of the investment plan it will be implemented at our further airport hotels – In my opinion we probably have the best crew lounge in Frankfurt."
