Wyndham Hotel Group, the world's largest hotel company with approximately 7,540 hotels and part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: WYN), continues to rapidly expand its portfolio of offerings in China under the upscale Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand flag.
The openings of Wyndham Grand Xi’an South and Wyndham Kunming Resort, along with the anticipated opening of Wyndham Xuzhou East by the end of this year, adds to the 760 hotels and more than 86,200 rooms currently open in China under the Hotel Group’s Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Ramada and Super 8 brands.
China, which continues to be one of the fastest-growing markets for hotel development in Asia-Pacific, is a key country for Wyndham Hotel Group’s global growth. From July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014, the Company opened 240 properties throughout the region, 211 of which were opened in China.

About the HotelsWyndham Grand Xi’an South opens as the largest hotel in Xi’an in terms of number of rooms, with 565 spacious elegant guest rooms. The luxury hotel is located in Qujiang New District, a key tourist area close to Great Tang All Day Mall, Xi'an Qujiang International Conference & Exhibition Center, Dayan Pagoda, as well as shopping centers. It is also easily accessible to historic heritage sites such as the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and Terracotta Warriors.
The hotel offers a number of five-star dining experiences, including The Lounge, which features 30-meter-high windows and magnificent views, and an all-day dining restaurant with interactive show kitchens and live cooking stations. Spacious function facilities spanning 5,000 square meters, including a grand ballroom and 11 breakout rooms, are available for meetings and private events.
The property joins Wyndham Grand Hotels and Resorts, an ensemble of distinguished hotels within the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand that represent one-of-a-kind experiences in key destinations with refined accommodations, attentive services and relaxed surroundings. This hotel is the first Wyndham Grand hotel in China managed by Wyndham Hotel Group.
The five-star Wyndham Kunming Resort caters to meetings, groups and family travelers and is conveniently located only 30 minutes’ drive from Kunming Changshui International Airport. The hotel will offer 300 rooms and features a wide range of outdoor recreational facilities and activities including an 18-hole golf course, a jockey club and a wetland park. Guests can also immerse themselves in nature at the well-conserved Jia Lize Wetland nearby.
The upcoming Wyndham Xuzhou East will be situated at the Xuzhou economic development zone, a core business area for industrial and technology businesses, with more than 3,000 enterprises in the area. The 340-room hotel near picturesque Jinlong Lake will be convenient for business and leisure travelers, located just five minutes from the Xuzhou High-Speed Railway Station and 45 minutes’ drive from the airport.
