Commenting on Salibi’s appointment, Gharib said: “We are delighted to welcome Afif to Raffles Dubai. With an illustrious career highlighted by progressive growth, and experience holding senior positions in both Raffles and Fairmont’s leading properties, Afif is a proven operations leader and I am confident that he will contribute greatly to the success of Raffles Dubai.”
Salibi brings with him over 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry, of which seven years with FRHI, and will play a vital role in maintaining Raffles Dubai’s prominent position as an iconic symbol of traditional Middle Eastern culture, ancient Egyptian history and refined Asian characteristics alongside its impeccable service, subtle luxury of space and sophisticated style for today’s affluent travelers.
Already familiar with Dubai and the brand, Salibi first joined Raffles Dubai in 2007 as Assistant Front Office Manager and was then swiftly promoted to Front Office Manager in 2008. Two years later, Salibi moved on to Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Phnom Penh in Cambodia as Director of Rooms, before he assumed his most recent role as Director of Operations at The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, Edmonton in Canada.
An avid traveler with fluency in English, Arabic and French, Salibi’s extensive traveling and passion to experience different cultures has seen him explore countries worldwide. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Business Management from the Washington State University in the United States.
