Hamad Abdulla Al-Mulla, CEO and Board member of Katara Hospitality, signed the management agreement for the new property with Saeed Abdulla Al Amer Al Kaabi, President of Sphinex Hotels & Resorts.
Saraya Corniche Hotel is the second property owned by Sphinex Hotels & Resorts which will be operated by Katara Hospitality’s Murwab Hotel Group. The partnership with Sphinex Hotels & Resorts was first announced in December 2013 for the management of The Avenue, a Murwab Hotel, located on Jawaan Street in Al Sadd District.
Saraya Corniche Hotel is currently in the final stages of development and is scheduled to open later this year. Ideally located on the Doha Corniche, the hotel overlooks the pristine waters of the Arabian Gulf and the world-renowned Museum of Islamic Art, Doha. The property will feature 221 rooms and suites, equipped with the latest technologies and amenities required by business travelers on the move, while restaurants, meeting and banqueting space as well as recreation facilities will complement the overall guest offering.
“The contemporary Saraya Corniche Hotel is set to become a true symbol of Arabian hospitality, offering authentic experiences to affluent travelers,” said Mr. Al Kaabi. “Katara Hospitality, with more than forty years of outstanding hospitality experience, is well-positioned to manage the hotel at high international standards.”

The Murwab Hotel Group represents a collection of independent, upscale properties offering contemporary hospitality inspired by the unique cultural heritage of the locations they are situated in. Murwab Hotel Group will operate a portfolio of hotels both under its Murwab Hotels brand as well as independent hotel properties. Future Murwab Hotel-branded properties will include the Grand Murwab City Center; The Avenue, a Murwab Hotel and Simaisma, a Murwab Resort. Independent properties will include Saraya Corniche Hotel, and City Gate Hotel.
