W Barcelona presents SUN DECK, the city’s newest terrace and infinity pool, designed to make the most of Barcelona’s hot summer days and lively seafront setting. Commanding panoramic, breath-taking views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea, the new SUN DECK boasts an 8 by 18 metres pool that stretches across the beachfront.
The minimalist design of the SUN DECK with its Brazilian walnut (ipe wood) deck and cool white furnishings continues the modern and innovative theme of the entire hotel, giving the striking views of the shore and distant mountains priority of place. This new terrace is the perfect place to wind down and enjoy the sparkling views along the lively Barceloneta coast.
With the opening of the new SUN DECK, W Barcelona now offers two unique poolside and beachfront spaces for guests and visitors. The SUN DECK perfectly complements the hotel’s WET®DECK, which, after five successful seasons, has become an essential part of the Barcelona summertime, thanks to the perfect blend of a great atmosphere, exotic cocktails and electronic music.
Wow Private Cabanas, the perfect location to kick back with friendsOffering prime poolside positions, the SUN DECK’s three WOW CABANAS and one EXTREME WOW Cabana with Jacuzzi are furnished with spacious and comfortable sun beds, minibar, TV and sound system. Open all year round and available to guests, locals and visitors, these can be reserved the day before for small groups of friends for between 250 and 500 Euro.
Poolside lounging and stylish celebrationsThe SUN DECK is the perfect spot to soak in the sun. W Barcelona recently unveiled an exclusive swimwear collection designed by rising British fashion star, William Tempest, for the hotel. Inspired by the energy and vibrant colours of the Barceloneta coast, the limited edition women’s bikini and men’s swim trunks are ideal for lounging by the SUN DECK in style.
From an intimate cocktail by the infinity pool to a romantic wedding ceremony, the SUN DECK caters for a range of private events with a capacity of up to 250 people. In June, W Barcelona will unveil BREEZE, comprising of three new meeting rooms and three terraces spanning 600sqm. Bathed in sunlight with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea, BREEZE will complement the rest of the hotel’s ultra-modern event space, which will total almost 4,000sqm.
