The 25 free-standing Casitas feature flat, bio-diverse roofs that cultivate green gardens, cool living spaces and blur the lines between dwellings and jungle. Reached via winding footpaths through private gardens, the Casitas have expansive terraces that overlook Playa Grande, known as the Republic’s most beautiful beach for its golden sands and clear, azure seas.
Amid the backdrop of the dramatic Cordillera Septentrional mountain range, the Playa Grande Golf Course has 10 oceanfront holes, the most of any layout in the western hemisphere. The last course designed by golf legend Robert Trent Jones, Sr, it is just finishing a new renovation by his son, Rees Jones.
Casa Grade is the heart of Amanera, home to a lofty open-air bar and lounge with expansive views, a library and a cigar bar. The resort’s signature restaurant features indoor and outdoor dining areas, and the two-storey Aman Spa includes Pilates and yoga studios, a meditation pavilion, a watsu pool and a comprehensive gym.
Amanera will open in late 2015.
