The special committee of the Board of Directors of Four Seasons Hotels Inc. (TSX: "FSH"; NYSE: "FS") today announced the appointment of Merrill Lynch as its financial advisor and Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP as its legal advisor.
As previously announced by Four Seasons on November 6, 2006, the special committee of independent directors was formed to review and consider the proposal received by the Board from Isadore Sharp and Triples Holdings Limited (the controlling shareholder of Four Seasons), Kingdom Hotels International, a company owned by a trust created by His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, and Cascade Investment, L.L.C. (an entity owned by William H. Gates III) to pursue a transaction through which Four Seasons would be taken private. The special committee has also been authorized to make recommendations to the Board and, in accordance with Canadian securities laws, to supervise the preparation of a formal valuation in connection with the proposed transaction.
