This means that the hotel will form part of the Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts portfolio until at least 2036. An extensive renovation programme has also been agreed with the building’s owner Internos Global Investors. The Steigenberger Hotel Conti Hansa in Kiel has belonged to the Steigenberger portfolio since 1991. Its proximity to the Kiel Fjord creates an attractive destination for leisure and business travellers alike. Jürgen von Massow, Vice President of Steigenberger Business Hotels, added, “The Steigenberger Hotel Conti Hansa in Kiel has been part of our portfolio for almost three decades. We are therefore particularly pleased that the agreement will be extended for a further period of almost 20 years and that the hotel will soon feature a resplendent new look.” Jochen Schaefer-Suren, Partner and Head of Hotels and Leisure Division of Internos Global Investors, explains: “Internos acquired the Steigenberger Hotel Conti Hansa in Kiel for its first Internos Hotel Real Estate fund I at the end of 2016 with the strategy to invest in this hotel to increase its value and support our tenant, the Steigenberger Hotels AG.”
