Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, an AAA Five-Diamond award recipient since 2005, announces it will reopen early summer 2018. The Resort, which closed due to the California mud slides on January 9, is currently working to remove mud, water and debris that impacted the property. A team of restoration experts were called upon to assess the situation and have since been working diligently to restore the Resort’s 22 acres of oceanfront land. Overall, the Resort sustained minimal damage caused by water and mud from the floods, primarily to landscaped areas and the beach.

“While we are saddened by our own temporary closure, we feel extremely lucky to have had minor structural damage and that our iconic 90 year old property remains intact,” says General Manager Karen Earp. “We are very focused on supporting our team, our community and helping those whose homes and places of business did not fare as well. We are forever grateful to the hundreds of volunteers and search and rescue teams who put their lives on the line each day.”

As the onsite team works diligently to restore the Resort, Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara team members volunteer both in the immediate area and at other Four Seasons properties around the world. More than 45 employees volunteered to serve “Task Force” within the company sharing their expertise with other properties. Additionally, local volunteers are closely tied to community efforts in Montecito, participating in fundraising, cleanup efforts and working with United Way of Santa Barbara and The American Red Cross Central California.

"Serving Task Force is a great way to learn from others and share my knowledge and expertise with my fellow Four Seasons team members," says Food and Beverage Administrative Assistant Autumn Starnes. "It was an honour to have the opportunity to assist at Four Seasons Resort Lanai. Task Force is such a rewarding experience and I am grateful that Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts offers opportunities to work in other capacities while we work hard to rebuild in Santa Barbara."

All guests with reservations prior to May 31, 2018 have been and are being contacted by the reservations team to make alternate arrangements, which include re-booking at a later date, or staying at the Resort’s sister properties in California, and other Four Seasons properties around the world.

For reservations, call 805 969 2261 or book online.
