Historic Hotel on Poland’s Baltic Coast Takes on New Five-Star Identity

Sofitel, with more than 200 prestige hotels worldwide, has announced the opening of the Grand Sopot Hotel by Sofitel, following a modernization and redesign of the historic 1927 building. After Warsaw and Wroclaw, Sofitel affirms its presence in Poland with this new address.

Sofitel has elevated this 126-room hotel to five-star status by redecorating guestrooms and upgrading them with high-tech amenities, redesigning public spaces, opening a new restaurant, and adding a luxurious new spa.

French architect Frederic Yzermann, who specializes in restoring aging historic buildings to their original splendour, created the hotel’s new look. He has skilfully combined the ornate charm of the hotel with more modern furniture and a neutral color palette. Guestrooms have also been fitted with Sofitel’s custom made MyBed™ feather bedding, high-speed Internet access, and flat screen TVs for guests’ comfort and convenience.

This seaside hotel offers many amenities to entertain and pamper leisure travelers, including a private beach, casino and spa. The new spa features an indoor swimming pool, thermal baths, a sauna, solarium and private treatment rooms. Guests may also want to venture away from the hotel to an adjacent seaside park where there are walking and bike paths, as well as Europe’s oldest and longest wooden pier.

The Grand Sopot Hotel by Sofitel also caters to the needs of business traveller, offering 5 conference rooms, ranging from 345 sq. ft to 2780 sq. ft, with state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment and dedicated staff.

In keeping with Sofitel’s emphasis on gourmet cuisine, the hotel has also opened a new restaurant called Art Deco, serving a mix of Polish and international cuisine. The menu has been created by Executive Chef Lech Liczbanski.
