Inspired by the tranquil elements of Southern California’s coast and the classic drama of old-Hollywood glam, the Hotel has completed its multi-million dollar transformation project, giving new life to this Southern California oasis.
As one of LA’s best destinations, Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village is set between the bustle of Los Angeles and Santa Barbara's wine country, just north of Malibu's famed beaches. It is here that recreation, rolling hills, sandy beaches and Southern California's best climate meet a wealth of resort activities, wellness and culinary experiences to relax, reconnect, renew and recharge. Guests can now enjoy the Hotel-wide enhancement, which encompasses the following projects: - Redesigned rooms including 230 guest rooms and 39 suites
- Renovated meeting space, event space and corridors
- Rhythm & Hair, a new salon featuring a blow dry bar, barbershop, beauty and nail services
- Brand new culinary outlets including Coin & Candor, a California brasserie; Onyx, a rebranded sushi bar; and Prosperous Penny, a weekend speak-easy

The vision of David Murdock, founder of Dole Enterprises and owner of Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, was to create a design aesthetic that evokes the soft spirit of Southern California’s natural elements, which complement the property’s holistic approach to health and wellness. Entrusting some the world’s leading design and culinary talent, this entire vision redefines the meaning of a luxury urban retreat.
Bringing Murdock’s dream to life, the acclaimed San Francisco-based design firm BAMO conceptualised the interiors for the guest rooms and suites, public spaces and meeting rooms.
The aesthetics draw a parallel between the calming elements of water and air with LA’s sophisticated allure.Guest Rooms and SuitesThoughtfully designed to capture the essence of luxury, all guest rooms and suites feature cool colours alongside a natural palette reflective of California. Patterns inspired by rhythm of nature are found throughout, including botanical prints, robin’s egg wallcovering and corridor flooring reminiscent of the ocean’s waves. Refined materials such as brass and lacquered woods create a relaxing, soothing and restful experience while also paying tribute to LA’s fabled past.Event and Gathering SpaceFurther emphasising the Hotel’s connection with the destination while paying homage to the opulence of old-Hollywood, the more than 15 meeting spaces and banquet rooms continue to be a social hub for those seeking bespoke events and gatherings. The rich mahogany wood contrasts the deep blue carpet plus floral patterned walls. Creating a contemporary backdrop, the existing grand chandeliers provide a warm glow.Salon and BarbershopDrawing inspiration from rhythm, a key principle of art, music and lifestyle, Rhythm & Hair focuses on beauty as an expression of personal identity.
