Part of the Baglioni Hotels & Resorts Collection, the hotel resides in an elegant mansion, whose site was the seat of the Knights Templar, of great historic importance just metres from St Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace.
Winner of a Travel + Leisure World’s Best Award, the Baglioni Hotel Luna is the oldest hotel in the city.
It boasts one of the most exquisite of all Baglioni Suites – the San Giorgio Terrace Suite, with peerless vistas across the waters of St Mark’s to San Giorgio isle.
The Baglioni Hotel Luna also has its own art gallery, whose architectural lines and style have just become even more beautiful, courtesy of the recent restoration overseen by Spagnulo & Partners, the celebrated architecture and interior-design studio founded by Federico Spagnulo.
The ground-floor common areas – the entrance, reception, lobby, restaurant and bar – have received a makeover to freshen the mood and offer guests an even more exclusive stay.
The sophisticated hotel Spa, meanwhile, is entirely new. It features a sauna, Turkish bath, massage rooms and relaxation area, all inspired by the Venetian aesthetic and embellished with classic textile panels, bronze glass inlay and smoked-glass mosaics.
The Hotel Luna rooms vaunt unforgettable lagoon views. The Suite terraces look on to the magnificent panoramic scene over the water to St Marks, the Royal Gardens and San Giorgio Maggiore island.
The building’s long history, allied to Venice’s eclecticism with its perennial taste for reinvention and cultural exchange with the East, has been pivotal to the project. The materials, fabrics and decoration allude to a diversity of traditions, bridging past and present.
In the entry area and the Fireplace Lounge, the marble-inlaid floors and the great chandeliers in antique Murano glass complement the modern furnishings and design. The Caffè Baglioni has been given a new lease of life with the curved wooden tables and the armchairs upholstered in classic textiles by Rubelli.
