DUCO Travel Summit is pleased to host its fourth annual DUCO Italy destination travel event March 21st – 25th, 2022, in Florence, Italy. The high-end boutique travel summit’s theme, Italia Antiqva, focuses on Italy’s rich ancient history and fascinating cultural heritage.

Italy’s most important hoteliers and key players, including travel advisors specializing in high-end travel, will be in attendance for the prestigious event. DUCO focuses on one single destination, highlighting the excellence of the Italian hospitality to the world’s most important buyers.

With DUCO, Italy is on the calendar of the world’s finest travel events with an innovative approach to holding meetings every day in a different venue.

“DUCO Italy celebrates its fourth edition with the theme Italia Antiqva, A tribute to Italy’s past and cultural pride. It is DUCO’s mission to promote the best of Italian hospitality and bring professionals together in a country
that has been at the crossroads of civilizations throughout history.”
– Carolina Perez, founder of DUCO.

Toscana Promozione Turistica, the Tuscan agency for tourism, is the main sponsor of the event for the fourth year running.

"We continue to firmly support this event through our tourism promotion agency because,” comments Leonardo Marras, councilor for Economy and Tourism of the Region of Tuscany,“in this moment, more than ever, it gives us the opportunity to highlight the quality and uniqueness of Tuscan hospitality, confirming our region among the most important destinations in the world. The pandemic has left signs still evident, especially in the tourism sector and now we are living a very serious situation with uncertain outcomes. However, I believe that we must continue to plan and work at our best to grow the destination by showcasing the many and dynamic proposals developed by our operators to surprise and meet the expectations of luxury travelers.”

DUCO is also proudly supported by the City of Florence and the Destination Florence Convention & Visitors Bureau (DFCVB).

Carlotta Ferrari, director of Destination Florence Convention & Visitors Bureau, notes: “It is no surprise that DUCO Travel Summit is taking place in Florence once again. Thanks to its artistic heritage and world-renowned beauties—but also to reaffirm and capitalize on what we have all experienced in these recent challenging years—Florence is the symbol of a smarter yet necessary tourism recovery.

During this sensitive time, Destination Florence Convention & Visitors Bureau, strengthened by its long-standing collaboration with the Municipality of Florence and its successful partnership with DUCO, is strategically aligned with Florentine hospitality providers and travel advisors. This event is once again an opportunity to state that Florence is ready to welcome international top-spender travelers, boasting the best in high-level hospitality, and the most-qualified services. And let me conclude by saying how proud we are to have a powerful network of 300+ members, including the 5-star hotels and operators attending DUCO.”

DUCO Italy is co-sponsored by ENIT, the Italian Government Tourist Board responsible for promoting tourism in Italy, and DFCVB, who will host lunch for DUCO’s invited media on Tuesday, March 22nd, at the iconic Harry’s Bar in its charming Lungarno location.

Villa Cora and Sina Villa Medici are also proud to be media partners of this prestigious event.

Event sponsors and partners work together to ensure Italy´s best destinations and experiences are showcased to those who bring the most qualified, upscale travel business to the country.

Over the course of the four-day summit, the best of Italy will gather at DUCO with sophisticated brands and leading independent properties meeting with some of the world’s top English-speaking travel advisors who focus on Italy.

Attendees will dive deep into the destination, starting at enriching fifteen-minute daytime appointments with DUCO Italy’s preferred participants and continuing through engaging nighttime events.

The theme, Italia Antiqva, invites guests to take a step back in time to appreciate the rich historical traditions of Italy, the ancient civilizations that once inhabited the peninsula and the cultural legacy of the country’s unforgettable monuments and symbols.

DUCO Italia Antiqva highlights the varied history of this land by reviving its vibrant history through the beauty of the ancient maps, artifacts, and art pieces that recall the historical roots of the country. The event offers an opportunity for travel advisors to immerse themselves in the beautiful country and learn firsthand what Italy has to offer travelers.

In keeping with its theme, DUCO Italy 2022 will feature the Italia Antiqva Awards which honor the best hoteliers, experience providers, and favorite properties as voted by attendees with winners in six categories: Cipollini Award - Best Hotelier; Most Unique Experience Provider; Dreamiest Tuscan Estate; Greatest Countryside Hotel; Most Charming Seaside Property; Most Memorable Urban Getaway.

The winners will be announced at the opening event in the Palazzo Vecchio’s Salone dei Cinquecento on Tuesday, March 22nd.
