 Karen Kurosawa joins OUTRIGGER Hospitality Group as Director of Environmental, Social and Governance

Kurosawa joins OUTRIGGER from CDP Reporter Services in New York, where she served as an Accounts Manager advising Fortune 500 companies on environmental disclosure, emissions verification and alignment with leading frameworks including TCFD, GHG Protocol and SBTi. She holds a Master of Arts in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University.

Karen’s proven expertise in ESG reporting and data analysis will sharpen our ability to measure progress and accelerate initiatives that protect our oceans, support our hosts and communities, while creating long-term value,” said Monica Salter, Vice President of Global Communications & Social Responsibility.
In her new role, Kurosawa will oversee the collection, analysis and reporting of environmental data across OUTRIGGER’s global portfolio, advancing the company’s sustainability goals.
She will drive green initiatives, and contribute to broader social and governance priorities that enhance the positive impact of OUTRIGGER’s ESG platform.
Central to these efforts is OUTRIGGER Zone – the company’s award-winning global conservation initiative that engages guests, hosts and communities in protecting the health of the oceans and coral reefs. Kurosawa will play a vital role in advancing OUTRIGGER Zone’s impact, expanding educational programming and strengthening partnerships with organizations dedicated to preserving marine ecosystems.
With this appointment, OUTRIGGER reaffirms its leadership in responsible tourism, recognizing that environmental stewardship, social equity and strong governance are not just good business practices – they are critical to preserving the world’s most treasured places for generations to come.
