Olivier Poirot Named New CEO

Accor North America, the largest hotel owner operator in North America, today announced key executive changes. Olivier Poirot was named CEO of Motel 6/Studio 6 and Accor North America. Poirot was previously the Accor North America chief financial officer. Georges Le Mener, Accor North America’s president and CEO will retire.

Jim Amorosia, Motel 6/Studio 6 chief operating officer, was named president and COO of Motel 6/Studio 6 with expanded duties including day-to-day marketing of the brand.

The structure of Accor North America will change--the ANA Mexico hotels will now report to Accor Latin America and Sofitel in North America will report to Sofitel worldwide; therefore, the scope of ANA will be primarily on the economy brands in the U.S. and Canada with support of Sofitel and Novotel.

The new Accor North America Executive Committee will change to reflect additional duties. Reporting to Poirot, in addition to Amorosia, will be Didier Bosc, today named ANA’s CFO and executive vice president, Alan Rabinowitz executive vice president and general council, Patrick Ollivier executive vice president of human resources and Quality, Bernard Rudler executive vice president of franchising and procurement, and Jeff Winslow executive vice president and CIO.

Poirot became CFO of Accor North America in June 2003. As a member of the Accor North America executive committee, Poirot was responsible for all finance-related functions including Accounting, Treasury, Finance, Real Estate and Development, Business Planning, Tax, and Internal Audit. Poirot joined Accor North America as senior vice president in charge of Finance for the ABL (Accor Business and Leisure) division in June 2001. Prior to that, he was CFO of Accor UK Ltd, in charge of Finance, IT, Procurement and Legal for Accor hotels in the UK and Ireland, where he began his career with Accor in 1992. Poirot started his professional life by managing the consultancy firm he created in France in 1990. Poirot holds a Business Degree and a DESSCAF from Ecole Superieure de Commerce de La Rochelle (Sup de Co), France.
