IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE:IHG (ADRs)], the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms, announced today that the Holiday Inn Tysons Corner has completed its upgrade to a Crowne Plaza, the seventh in the Washington, DC, market. With the addition of Tysons Corner property to the Crowne Plaza portfolio, the brand has more than tripled its presence in the Washington, DC, market in less than two years. This achievement follows a multi-million dollar renovation of the hotel, located in the heart of Tysons Corner. Renovations include upgrades to the exterior, ballroom, restaurants and all public areas.

This is the fifth Crowne Plaza hotel to open in less than two years in the Washington, DC, market. Joining the Crowne Plaza Hamilton in downtown Washington, DC, and the Crowne Plaza Washington National Airport, new properties include:

Crowne Plaza Washington DC-Silver Spring
Crowne Plaza Dulles Airport
Crowne Plaza Old Town Alexandria

The Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner is located in the heart of Tysons Corner, adjacent to the Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria Malls. It is within walking distance to numerous corporations including Booz Allen Hamilton, Wachovia Bank, Ariel Research Corporation, BearingPoint and Mitre Corporation, and just 12 miles from downtown Washington, D.C. The hotel will provide complimentary shuttle service to local businesses, shopping and dining, as well as scheduled shuttle runs to and from the Dunn Loring Metro.

The Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner will feature the Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage program, which is available at all Crowne Plaza hotels in the Americas. Sleep Advantage encompasses the entire sleep experience, from training staff on how to create and maintain a restful environment to providing innovative products and services. Program components include new bedding, guaranteed wake-up calls, designated quiet zones, night lights, drape clips, sleep CDs, sleep tips and amenities such as eye masks, ear plugs and lavender spray.

To celebrate the fact that all 316 rooms and suites have upgraded to the Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage program, one lucky winner will win years of great sleep with their very own ensemble. Also consistent with the Crowne Plaza brand, the hotel offers a comprehensive meetings package to ensure a seamless planning process and exceptional meeting experience consisting of three key components: a Two-Hour Response Guarantee, Crowne Meetings Director and a Meetings Daily Debrief. The hotel features over 10,000 sq.-ft. of flexible meeting space, including the adjacent Executive Conference Center (ECTC). This conference center holds the esteemed International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) designation and is equipped and designed to meet the diverse needs of today's business travelers, corporate trainers and event planners.

The hotel offers two restaurants. The Tuscan Grille serves breakfast and dinner with an Italian flair. The Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner is owned managed by B.F. Saul Company, under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group.
