French hotelier Accor's newest brand is celebrating its sixth-month anniversary in the heart of the Thai capital with a unique blend of business-orientated facilities and phenomenal leisure establishments.

Pullman Bangkok King Power is celebrating its sixth-month anniversary in high-style as guests stream through its doors amid Thailand's famed water festival.

The Thai capital's newest luxury hotel is operating at full-speed with all of its upscale restaurants, lounges, and guest facilities online since its October grand opening. The anniversary coincides with another celebration: the Thai New Year known as "Songkran".

The Tourism Authority of Thailand expects more than 3 million Thai and foreign tourists to holiday during Songkran this year, earning the kingdom about US$130 million, up two percent from 2007.

The 386-room Pullman Bangkok King Power has benefited from the influx of foreign and domestic visitors during the wild water festival, the hotel says.

While leisure tourists are a significant target market, the Accor brand hotel is also eying corporate guests. Thailand's Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) market is booming, and Pullman has quickly secured its share.

To accommodate function events, the elegant and spacious seven-meter-high ceiling ballroom with a seating capacity for up to 400 guests has the versatility to accommodate large incentive function events or small private dinner parties. An additional five fully equipped meeting rooms are available for "breakout seminars and conferences." A 573-seat theatre is also available for corporate summits.

These "smart" venues were conceived and built to attract the MICE market and particularly up-market MICE events. The hotel promises acknowledgement of corporate requests within 45 minutes, and provides tailor-made packages in less than 24 hours.

All guest rooms provide a unique set of benefits such as interactive TVs offering satellite programs, fast Internet access, and an e-check-in tool on the hotel's website.

Located in central Bangkok, Pullman Bangkok King Power offers access to two BTS Skytrain stations within walking distance, and easy access to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport via two expressway entrances.

Pullman became synonymous with luxurious, first-class train travel in the U.S. and Europe in the late 1800s when it introduced its sleeper carriage. After French hotel giant Accor purchased the brand name in 1990, Pullman has transformed into a renowned five-star hotel chain. The company aims to open 59 Pullman hotels by the end of 2009.
