Conrad Hotels received the ultimate award of “World's Leading Luxury Hotel Brand” at the annual World Travel Awards ceremony, held Sunday night on the eve of the opening of the World Travel Market held in London for the global travel trade industry. This prestigious trophy was presented to Clem Barter, President of Conrad Hotels, during the dinner ceremony at the London Royal Opera House.
The nominees for the honor of “World's Leading Luxury Hotel Brand” included some of the most recognized luxury hotel brands in the world, making the prestigious award all the more gratifying. In addition to the above-mentioned ultimate award, Conrad Hotels was awarded eight other distinctions:
The Conrad Istanbul for “Europe's Leading Business Hotel” and “Best Business Hotel in Turkey”
The Conrad Bangkok for “Thailand's Leading Business Hotel”

As in previous years, tens of thousands of travel professionals cast their votes online to determine the winners of each category. The 2005 World Travel Awards were supported by many media organizations, including BBC Worldwide and several international tourism television channels.
