Anonymous winner takes home $3.2 million

A small investment turned into the largest jackpot in Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel history yesterday.

A patron, who has chosen to remain anonymous, won $3,228,096 playing a $5 Wheel of Fortune (R) progressive MegaJackpot(R) machine. The big moment came after the patron had invested about $100 into the machine.

"Yesterday may have been a winter day in February, but I am sure this gentleman will always have warm memories of February 7, 2008," said Brian Hansberry, President and CEO, Seneca Gaming Corporation. "We are very excited for him and happy that he has achieved this milestone in Seneca Niagara history."

Yesterday's jackpot is the first MegaJackpot(R) to be awarded at the casino so far this year. Last year, the casino paid six MegaJackpots(R) totaling $1.3 million. In all, Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel has paid four other MegaJackpot(R) prizes of one million dollars or more, and twenty-eight MegaJackpots(R) ranging from over $100,000 to upwards of $700,000, on a variety of IGT progressive systems. Since 2003, nearly $19 million in MegaJackpot(R) prize money has been given away at the casino.

Opened on December 30, 2005, Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel offers patrons 147,000 square feet of gaming, with 4,200 slot machines and 102 table games to choose from. The accompanying 26-story hotel features 604 luxury rooms, six restaurants, a full-service spa and salon, indoor swimming pool and is one of only two Western New York hotels to earn a Four Diamond rating from AAA. More than 7 million people visited the resort last year.

In addition to Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel, the Seneca Nation of Indians operate Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel in Salamanca, and the temporary Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in downtown Buffalo, where construction is currently underway for a $333 million casino and hotel complex.
