The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club just received another prestigious honor, as it was named a “Best of the South” winner by Meetings South magazine. The winners were determined by votes from meeting planners, who were asked to vote for their favorite resorts and/or hotels in the south, that they have used for a meeting or program during the last two years. Selections were based on the quality of meeting space, guest rooms, staff, service, food & beverage, amenities, activities, and values.

The winners are recognized in the September 2010 issue of Meetings South magazine. In addition, a plaque commemorating the designation will be presented to Jason Parsons, general manager of the 319-room resort, which is Southwest Florida’s only resort directly on the beach with an on-site championship golf course, a world-class spa, and an award-winning tennis center. The 125-acre resort also features 34,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and many beautiful outdoor venues.

“Receiving this prestigious distinction recognizes The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club as an exceptional choice for meetings, incentive groups and conventions,” said Parsons. “We’re proud that the resort consistently receives honors like this, which is testament to our re-investment in the property, exceptional customer service from our team, and all of the amenities we have to offer.”

This honor follows other recent awards presented to the resort, which includes Successful Meetings’ prestigious “Pinnacle Award,” and MeetingNews magazine’s highly-coveted “Planners’ Choice Award.”

Continually enhancing its already-impressive offerings, the resort completed a $25 million renovation in 2010. The multi-phase project included the renovation of guest rooms and suites, and the addition of a new pool complex.

Newly remodeled accommodations now feature cool tropical color linens, fabrics and carpeting; flat-panel televisions; patio or balcony (with a view of the Gulf, golf course or the lush resort interior); coffee maker; and refrigerator.

The new beachfront pool complex features: two pools, two whirlpools, a pool bar with food service, restrooms, and locker facilities, as well as a pool/recreational shop. Picturesque tall palms encircle the complex, which is further complimented by direct beach access.

In addition to being renowned for its location and complete resort offerings, The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club offers 34,000 square feet of meeting, event and convention facilities. The Clubhouse overlooks Naples’ original golf course and features the 6,283-square-foot River of Grass Ballroom; the 2,457-square-foot Mangrove Ballroom; up to 7 additional breakouts; and spectacular indoor/outdoor pre-function space. Oceanside affords three additional meeting venues including the 3,640-square-foot Sunset Terrace, as well as the Ocean and Watkins Lawns with over 8,000 square feet of beachside event space. A full-service business center, audio-visual by AVI, wireless high-speed internet, and a professional conference service planning team round out the meeting amenities.

Owned and operated by the Watkins family for more than 60 years, the resort features: 1,000 feet of pristine white-sand beach; an on-site par 72 championship golf course; a world-class Spa; complete Fitness Center; the Mary C. Watkins Tennis Center with six Har-Tru courts; Beach Klub 4 Kids, a recreational program for children ages five to 12; and an Orchid House, home to over 3,000 tropical plants.

In addition, guests can take advantage of four great restaurants, including the signature beachfront HB's on the Gulf, and the Seminole Store that serves deli sandwiches, ice cream, gourmet coffees and a variety of freshly baked pizza, pastries and desserts in a café atmosphere. The resort also features multiple bars, including the famed Sunset Beach Bar, consistently named “Best Place To View A Southwest Florida Sunset” and named “Naples’ Best Beach Bar” by the Travel Channel.

The resort is just blocks from Naples’ renowned shopping districts of fashionable 5th Avenue South and historic 3rd Street South. Venetian Village, Waterside Shops, Bayfront and Tin City are minutes away.

Groups and guests can experience the area by taking tours of the Everglades, Caribbean Gardens, Corkscrew Swamp, The Botanical Gardens, or the Conservancy Nature Center. In addition, boat and fishing trips can be arranged at the hotel. Other leisure time activities can include Naples’ outstanding museums, theatres, and art galleries.
