500 years after the birth of the great Umbrian artist Bernardino di Betto, also known as Pintoricchio, Perugia hosts an exhibition entirely dedicated to the artist, from February 2nd to June 29, 2008, in the National Gallery of Umbria in the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Spello. Also the Hotel Brufani Palace dedicates a very interesting offer.
The Pintoricchio Exhibition is a great project for the valorisation of the territory and the Umbrian heritage which will be realized in occasion of the 550th anniversary of the birth of one of the most interesting artists of the Italian Renaissance and symbol of the city of Perugia. After the success of the exhibition dedicated to Perugino in 2004, the new monographic exhibition follows up the valorisation of the great Umbrian artists to renew the public's and the critics’ attention on the artistic and cultural heritage of the region and the extraordinary diffusion. The exhibition will be prepared in the National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia and will be integrated by a second section in the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Maggiore of Spello.
