MGM Grand Detroit has been awarded the
2008 Pinnacle Award; it recognizes exceptional commitment to hospitality
excellence, as voted by the readers of Successful Meetings magazine. The
Pinnacle Award establishes MGM as the "Best of the Best" by meeting
planners across the nation.
For the past 24 years, the Pinnacle Award has recognized hotels,
conference centers and convention and visitor's bureaus that extend above
and beyond the expectations of meeting planners and attendees. A short list
of Pinnacle winners is developed by the significant and well respected
opinions of meeting planners who speak from their own experiences. Winners
are selected for their hospitality excellence, innovation, customer
collaboration and exceptional amenities that set them apart from the rest
in the industry.

feet of luxury business and reception space, composed of a
14,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom; three 1,600-square-foot meeting rooms;
and two 710-square-foot executive boardrooms. The Grand Ballroom
accommodates 1,200 people and can be divided into four Ballroom Salons for
intimate gatherings of 300.
The Amber, Garnet and Sapphire meeting rooms host groups of 100 and can
be divided in half for smaller events. Two executive boardrooms, the Onyx
and Quartz, each accommodate up to 18 people. The boardrooms feature
state-of-the- art teleconferencing services, built-in plasma TVs and
wired/wireless high- speed Internet access.
