At the FIABCI 2008 Malaysia Property Award
G HOTEL's unique positioning as a city hotel has paid off, earning the hotel the coveted Malaysia Property Award 2008 under the hotel category from the Federation Internationales des Administrateurs de Bien-Conselis Immobiliers (FIABCI) award.
The concept and design of G Hotel alone were not enough to enable G Hotel to win the Malaysia Property Award 2008 under the hotel development category from the Federation Internationales des Administrateurs de Bien-Conselis Immobiliers (FIABCI) award.
There were other factors that the panel of judges looked at also which included the working environment, the training programme for staff, and how the hotel was built following a plan aimed at preserving the environment.
"We provided the panel of judges with information on the training programme for our staff, which is held every 90 days. All senior and junior staff takes part in the training programme, which focuses on self-development and how to advance one's career in the hotel industry," G Hotel general manager Marco Battistotti said
FIABCI Malaysia president Datuk Richard Fong said, “The award has enjoyed resounding success with developers from all over the country vying for the prestigious MPA, which acts as a screening process for entries to the Prix d’Excellence – the annual ceremony held in major cities around the world to reward the world’s best projects.”
G Hotel’s vision is one which is borne out of a desire by David Eng together with Ko Shiou Hee to revolutionize the hotel industry in Malaysia and more particularly so in Penang, in tandem with the emerging global trend of “cool hotels”. When the idea was first conceived, G Hotel was to feature design aesthetics, unexpected features and spaces that is uncomplicated, yet stylish coupled with unique experiences delivered in impeccably high standards of service. I am pleased to note that this vision has become a reality in what G Hotel is today.
The success of G Hotel is truly a team effort.
Thanks to the endeavour of Messieurs David Eng, Lai Tuck Meng & Phuah Choon Meng of G Hotel Sdn Bhd / Etika Cekap Sdn Bhd, Ar. Kam Pak Cheong from BEP Akitek Sdn Bhd, Mr. Ko Shiou Hee from K2LD, Mr Billy Theodas, Mr. Marco Battistotti and indeed all G Hotel associates.
This is a milestone for the G Hotel team, and we are most pleased this year’s FIABCI has chosen to celebrate this project.
Today G Hotel has become an artistic hub in itself, attracting contemporary enthusiasts to rest their eyes on the splendour it has to offer.
