Travel Agents Cash In with Outrigger’s Condominium Collection
Outrigger Condominium Collection has extended its popular $50 Condo Booking Bonus through December 21, 2009. That means travel agents can continue to earn $50 for every new realized booking of five nights or more at any one of Outrigger’s 14 condominiums on Oahu, Maui, Kauai or the Big Island.
“Travel agents have always been key to the ongoing success of Outrigger Hotels & Resorts,” said Tim Alex, director of sales and marketing for Outrigger’s Condominium Collection. “For well over 60 years, Outrigger and the travel agent community have worked hand in hand to bring visitors to Hawaii. Extending our condo booking bonus through next year is our way of saying ‘mahalo’ to the agents for their ongoing support.”
The $50 Condo Booking Bonus applies to all reservations made at Outrigger’s five Maui condos: Outrigger Palms at Wailea, Outrigger Aina Nalu, Outrigger Maui Eldorado, Outrigger Royal Kahana and Outrigger Napili Shores; three Oahu properties: Outrigger Luana Waikiki, Outrigger Regency on Beachwalk and Outrigger Waikiki Shore, three Kauai properties: Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation, Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa and Outrigger at Lae nani; and all Big Island condominiums: Outrigger Kanaloa at Kona, Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff and Outrigger Fairway Villas.
According to Alex, travel agents can't go wrong when recommending an Outrigger Condominium resort to their clients, as they can enjoy many of the same comforts and amenities that they would at home.
“One of the most obvious benefits of opting to stay at a condo is that most units have a fully equipped kitchen,” Mr. Alex said. “Visitors can stock up on fresh produce and fish from local stands or markets and cook meals to experience Hawaii’s native tastes in a more first-hand way than at a restaurant. Plus, the money saved by eating in for some meals can be put toward more sightseeing and activities or splurging on shopping or souvenirs to take home.” Alex also pointed out that kitchens make it possible to keep snacks and drinks on hand, to store leftovers, and to enjoy breakfast in your pajamas.
Another benefit highlighted by Alex is the spaciousness of condominium units, which are perfect for accommodating extended families and friends. “Rather than reserving separate rooms, everyone can stay together in one large two- or three-bedroom condominium, allowing everyone to mingle and play together,” Alex said. “After a freshly-prepared meal with the family, it’s easy for everyone to relax in the living areas, have cocktails on the lanai, and let the kids sleep in their own room with the door closed if the adults want to stay up.”
Finally, Alex pointed out that choosing a condo can mean packing lighter, something that has become a priority today with most airlines now charging a steep fee for a second and third suitcase, and many even charging for a first checked bag. “For a family of four, this can easily add $200 or more to the cost of a round trip flight to Hawaii, but travelers staying at a resort condominium may not need that second or third suitcase,” Alex pointed out. “Most units have washers and dryers or on-site laundry facilities, letting guests launder clothes, towels and other personal items at their leisure, so a single suitcase per traveler may do just fine!”
To qualify for the $50 Condo Booking Bonus special, each new booking must be made at a single participating property for a minimum of five consecutive nights. The booking bonus is combinable with other special offers and valid for GDS and tour operator bookings, as well as those made through travel websites, email and over the phone. The special does not apply to Kama’aina (local resident) rates, non-commissionable rate bookings, or group bookings of 10 or more rooms.
