Special Summer Seasonal Offer – Five Nights @ €1,100 for two!

The scenic and cultural wonders of India's southern state of Kerala, named one of the "ten paradises of the world" and "50 places of a lifetime" by National Geographic Traveler magazine, can be explored with new special offers from the Relais & Châteaux boutique hotel, The Malabar House.

In the historical heart of Fort Cochin, the charming 17-room converted colonial bungalow is presenting unique 6 day-5 night packages that include two nights exploring Kerala’s world famous backwaters on the hotel’s own luxury houseboat.

Summer prices until September 30 are €1,100 for two, rising to €1,700 from October 1 to April 30, 2010.

Also included is a tasting of Indian wines and dinner at The Malabar Junction restaurant, which blends Mediterranean cuisine with traditional Indian spices, along with half-day sightseeing in Cochin, tickets to the region's traditional Kathakali dance spectacle, airport transfers and guides.

Aboard the houseboat discovery cruise, guests explore the vast inland waterways of Kerala including Lake Vembanad and the town of Alleppey, the famed Ambalapuzha temple and an historic ancestral house and farm at Pulinkunnu.

The lake is a major ecological resource which has conditioned the flora, fauna and lifestyles of the people who live on its banks. The houseboat cruise through the narrow canals give visitors a close encounter with local village life.

Kerala is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India, renowned for its ecotourism initiatives, unique culture and traditions.

Cochin is the spice capital of the world, known as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea”. India’s oldest Indo–European town is a cluster of islands on the vast expanse of Vembanad Lake, the maritime link between the sea and the fabled backwaters of Kerala.

The Malabar House is the only Relais & Châteaux property in Kerala, and one of the most unique in the global collection of the world’s finest luxury and independent small properties and gourmet restaurants.
