Well-known for showcasing the region’s abundant local products and world-famous wines - Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa has been awarded the prestigious Michelin star. Of the thousands of restaurants studied by Michelin’s judges only an elite few receive the coveted Michelin stars.
“It’s an incredible honor to receive this award,” Executive Chef Bruno Tison shares. “Santé ’s, Chef de Cuisine, Andrew Cain and his culinary brigade work hard to create inventive, original flavors. A Michelin star is the icing on a rich cake for the lauded Santé, a recipient of multiple rankings including those bestowed by Wine Spectator, AAA Four Diamond, and Zagat. Santé is home to a host of outstanding chefs led by Chef de Cuisine, Andrew Cain and including- William Birks, Ryan Hicks, Sonny Rios, Juan Galindo, Gabriel Thompson, KC Martinez, Ben Golden, Nick Urban and Esteban Soria.
According to Michelin Guide Director, Jean-Luc Naret, five criteria are used for awarding stars: product quality, preparation and flavors, the cuisine's personality, value and consistency.
