Depending on where you are and whom you ask, official "date night" status belongs to Friday or Saturday. But peek into Seasons Restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago on any given Thursday, and you'll find a room full of couples sipping wine, dining on gourmet fare and grinning ear to ear.
What's their secret?
They know that every Thursday, during the bedtime-friendly hours of 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Four Seasons provides free childcare with any dinner for two.
Oh yes, it's true. While grown-ups savour Executive Chef Kevin Hickey's creative culinary offerings (think Beef Tartare with Homemade Beer Mustard or Brioche-Crusted Wild Alaskan Halibut), the kids are enjoying their own "gourmet" buffet of chicken fingers, mac 'n' cheese and fruit kabobs, all under the watchful eye of a licensed babysitter. And that's not all. The kids' dream dinner also includes the use of Nintendo Wii, board games, colouring books and a selection of movies. In fact, they'll have so much fun they'll be begging mom and dad for another date night, ASAP!
