Spa Aqua Debuts on SPA Magazine's Readers' Choice List, Earning Top Honor for Mexico
More than 100,000 votes were cast in SPA magazine's third annual Silver Sage Readers’ Choice Awards, and Spa AQUA at modern lifestyle resort Live Aqua Cancun distinguished itself from the competition, receiving the title of favorite resort/hotel spa in Mexico.
A newcomer to this elite listing, the 335-room and 36-suite Live Aqua Cancun elevates the guest experience, touching each of the senses through uniquely designed well-being elements, including in-room aromatherapy menus; mouthwatering cuisine by Celebrity Chefs Michelle Bernstein and Franco Madalozzo; sweeping, panoramic sea views; an in-house DJ; and all-encompassing treatments at the world fusion fitness center and spa.
Like the resort, the spa itself aims to excite all five senses with an array of soothing sounds, exotic textures, alluring colors, delicate flavors and inviting aromas. With an extensive menu of signature treatments, hand-selected from all over the world, Spa Aqua provides a truly cosmopolitan experience.
For a taste of the Orient, guests can select from Geisha rice wraps or Shiatsu, Samurai and Shinodarah massage treatments, while luxurious milk body wraps from ancient Greece, gold showers and diamond facials developed in Europe cater to a more Western taste. The rich aroma of a coffee exfoliation or a deliciously creamy chocolate wrap tantalizes the skin while teasing the taste buds.
Each therapy room is uniquely designed according to the treatment's country of origin and reflects the aromas, sounds and visuals of that sacred place. Mayan rituals and services, like Temazcal, the traditional Mayan sweat bath, are fulfilled in a room decorated in bright jade, balanced by the light, lingering fragrances of vanilla and coffee.
Guests can, of course, indulge in more traditional spa services such as Swedish deep-tissue and Vichy water massages, oxygenating facials, aromatherapy and custom manicures and pedicures.
Complementing the Spa, the resort offers a range of additional health facilities, including eight outdoor swimming pools, each featuring its own unique water temperature; a Jacuzzi(R); two tennis courts; and a modern fitness center, providing top-of-the-line weight training and cardiovascular equipment, as well as Kinesis equipment, which features functional training based on the body’s own natural movements.
