Thailand’s premier luxury lifestyle community ‘Royal Phuket Marina’ (RPM) was the recipient of yet another regional accolade for its unique waterfront properties, and in particular, its new ‘Aquaminium’ condominiums.

RPM was voted ‘Best Developer – Waterfront Development’ at the 2010 Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in Asia. The annual awards, presented in Singapore on May 19, recognise outstanding real estate development in Asia.

RPM’s luxury Aquaminiums are a new concept in marina living, featuring private ‘drive-in’ boat berths, as well as sumptuously designed and appointed interiors. Since launching on the market, these ultra-luxury residences have been snapped up by investors, setting a record price for condominium sales in Phuket.

Royal Phuket Marina’s Luxury Waterfront Villas were also honored at the awards for showing strong architectural design, coupled with the unusual facility to moor a mega yacht at the foot of the property.

“We are truly delighted to receive this prestigious accolade”, said RPM owner, telecoms tycoon Mr. Gulu Lalvani, “we believe this is marina living at its best and the popularity of our properties reflect this with many people choosing to make this their permanent home.”

Cityscape Asia’s group Exhibition Director Graham Wood said this year’s winners demonstrated a “strong commitment to advancing the real estate sector in Asia”.

Phuket was also in the news earlier this month, when the island’s boating scene was acknowledged as the ‘Best Asian Maritime Capital’ in the annual Asian Boating Awards 2010 hosted by luxury magazine Asia-Pacific Boating..
