The Grand Cayman Island is alive again and the Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort is operating in full swing. The John Hardy Group (JHG) of Atlanta, Georgia was retained to perform Hurricane Remediation, Cost Estimates and Project Management and project accounting for the restoration and redevelopment of the resort, located on 7 Mile Beach.

Prior to Hurricane Ivan, J.E. Roberts Companies was already in the process of updating the 305-room, beach front resort. The plans were in place for a complete upgrade of the guestrooms and bathrooms as well as the public areas, meeting space and each of the 4 restaurants & bars. La Mer Spa received a massive expansion along with an upgraded pool area. The landscaping also received major enhancements especially to the lush tropical garden.

Fortunately, the damage the hotel sustained had caused only a minor delay in the 15 million dollar renovation and now the Marriott Grand Cayman can boast a Four Diamond rating.

"JHG has a record of successfully operating under extreme emergency disaster related conditions resulting from major hurricanes events. Our management team is highly skilled in accomplishing the difficult tasks encountered when faced with this type of hardship," says John R. Hardy, president and CEO of The John Hardy Group.
