One million SPG Starpoints will be awarded to the person with the most stays at participating Sheraton, Le Meridien, The Luxury Collection and Four Points by Sheraton hotels and resorts
With football fans heading to Africa this summer for one of the world's biggest sporting events, Starwood Hotels and Resorts is offering travellers the chance to win up to one million Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) points when they stay at participating properties in Africa and the Indian Ocean.
The traveller with the most stays in Starwood Hotels and Resorts in Africa and the Indian Ocean until December 2010 will be awarded one million SPG points, the currency of the award-winning loyalty programme Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG). A further 300,000 points will go to the person with the second most stays, 200,000 points to the person with the third most stays and there will also be a draw for 100,000 Starpoints for three more lucky winners.
Over twenty Sheraton, Le Meridien, The Luxury Collection and Four Points by Sheraton hotels and resorts in destinations such as Egypt, Morocco, The Gambia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles and South Africa are included in this great promotion.
Rates start from as low as $70 per room per night at the Sheraton Dreamland Hotel & Conference Centre, located just 8 kilometers from the Pyramids in Cairo. SPG Starpoints can be redeemed for free stays at hundreds of Starwood Hotels and Resorts around the world with no blackout dates, meaning members can use these points wherever and whenever they want to. In addition to free hotel stays, Starpoints can also be used for free flights through SPG Flights, a fantastic online service that allows members to easily redeem points for a flight to the destination of their choice. The points can also be transferred into frequent flyer miles with more than 30 airlines, usually at 1 mile per point ratio. Redemption can be conveniently made online, by phone, or at the hotel.
Registration for the promotion must be made by July 31st 2010 with travel valid until the end of December 2010. Restrictions may apply at some individual hotels. The offer is not applicable for group bookings.
