Luxury eco retreat creates romantic treetop ‘Bird’s Nest’
Always elevating the guest experience to new heights, the Seychelles’ ever innovative Frégate Island Private has created its very own ‘Bird’s Nest’, a secluded romantic lair in the treetops. Inspired by the island’s 140 species of rare tropical birds, the Bird’s Nest is an idyllic hideaway for couples to revel in their private tropical island odyssey.
Just off Grande Anse, one of Frégate’s seven dream beaches, a wooden staircase winds up around the trunk of a coconut tree, leading up to a hand-crafted, three square metre private platform discreetly camouflaged in palm leaves. From its four metre-high vantage point, the Bird’s Nest commands breathtaking views across the sparkling turquoise Indian Ocean to the west, scenes of the glorious beach and jungle to the south; and a panorama of the island’s dense endemic foliage towards the east and north.
