Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach Resort, located in Freeport on Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas, is offering locals and visitors a special rate for the 13th Annual 2011 Coconut Festival. This year's festival will be held on April 25 over Easter weekend at Pelican Point, known as the "Home of Coconuts." The all-inclusive rate is $149 per person, per night, double occupancy.
The Coconut Festival, known as Pelican Point's Homecoming Festival, will offer guests a feast of coconut dishes such as coconut shrimp, coconut rice, coconut tart, and more, as well as a variety of coconut beverages including the famous Bahamian drink gully wash. Event-goers also will enjoy coconut games such as coconut eating and barking contests, coconut shell crafts and souvenirs, live entertainment and more.
The Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach offers 276 island inspired guest rooms with balconies and features a secluded beach with 1,200 feet of white sands and crystal clear waters. As the only all-inclusive resort on the island, it is surrounded by tropical forests and parklands. Additionally, one of the world's largest reef systems is located just off shore which makes for memorable snorkeling. The resort is a 45 minute flight from Florida and 13 miles from Freeport Airport.
