Books and movies (not to mention country music) are full of rootin' tootin' cowboy lore. We've sung along with Rhinestone Cowboys and fallen in love with Urban Cowboys, but what about Island Cowboys?
On the private Hawaiian island of Lana'i, there's a handsome young horse wrangler blazing new trails at Four Seasons Resort Lana'i, The Lodge at Koele. By day, he guides guests on horseback rides through the island's scenic landscape and by night, he serenades them!
In a story that reads like a screenplay, 23-year-old Washington native Jesse Taylor found himself touring the United States, playing his music in bars and sleeping in the back of his truck. During a visit to Montana, the wife of the Resort's Stable Manager heard Jesse and told her husband about the talented young performer.
The rest, as they say, is country-music history. Jesse moved to Lana'i and has been enchanting guests with his original songs ever since. Visit the Resort's Tea Room Bar after sundown and savour Jesse's melodies as the nightcap to a perfect day. There's just one cautionary note: with a building fan base — he’s been compared to a young Randy Travis — Jesse's singing career could eclipse his wrangling career soon.
