Between 1 March and 31 May 2012, the Michelin two-star Shang Palace Chinese restaurant at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong launches the “Celebrity” dinner menu. The menu features signature dishes that Executive Chinese Chef Mok Kit Keung has created for prominent dignitaries and figures from around the globe, and offers guests an opportunity to dine like a celebrity. Priced at HK$1,388 per person, the six-course “Celebrity” dinner is limited to 18 sets each day, and must be reserved two days in advance with a minimum of four orders.

In addition, to celebrate the Michelin two-star accolade, Shang Palace launches two specially designed Michelin lunch and dinner set menus to take guests’ Cantonese dining experience to the next level with a variety of innovative dishes.

Having over 35 years of culinary experience, Chef Mok spent almost two decades working at a number of prestigious establishments, international luxury hotels and convention centres in Singapore. Over the years, he has received numerous recognitions and culinary accolades with his creative dishes. Infusing an artistic touch to the presentation of the dishes, the “Celebrity” menu presents a modern take and an upscale twist on traditional Cantonese cuisine.

Guests can dine on items such as Crispy Suckling Pig with Deep-Fried Cereal Prawn (served to Lee Hsien Loong, prime minister of Singapore); Braised Imperial Bird’s Nest, Lobster and Cordyceps with Gold Leaf (served to Lee Kuan Yew, former prime minister of Singapore, and winner of the 2004 Singapore Golden Tripod Award – Gold Medal); Oven Baked Cod Fillet with Egg White and Conpoy (served to Vladimir Putin, prime minister and former president of Russia); and Roasted Rack of Lamb with Red Wine Sauce (served to Mohammed VI, king of Morocco). The “Celebrity” menu also features Braised Scallops and Crab Coral with Green Vegetables with Steamed Abalone Fried Rice Wrapped and Steamed in a Lotus Leaf, as well as Chilled Black Glutinous Rice and Pumpkin Cream with Coconut Ice Cream and Baked Walnut Pastry.

Chef Mok also invites guests to sample the brand new Michelin lunch and dinner set menus, created to celebrate the recent Michelin two-star rating received by Shang Palace. Guests can look forward to Barbecued Suckling Pig and Deep-Fried Prawn with Wasabi Mayonnaise; Double-Boiled Crab Claw Soup with Matsutake and Bamboo Fungus; Sautéed King Prawn and Sliced Sea Conch with Green Vegetables; Braised Whole Abalone and Sea Cucumber with Abalone Sauce; Stewed Lobster Noodles with Ginger and Green Onions; and many more dishes worthy of a Michelin star. The Michelin lunch menu is priced at only HK$488 per person, and HK$668 per person with wine pairings. The Michelin dinner menu is priced at just HK$988 per person, and HK$1,388 per person with wine pairings.
