Bekris will oversee all culinary operations at the landmark property.
Commenting on Bekris’s appointment, Gharib said “We are delighted to welcome Doxis to Raffles Dubai. With several years of culinary expertise, Doxis is a proven industry leader and I am confident he will guide Raffles Dubai to new heights of success.”
Bekris, a Greek native, brings with him over 20 years of culinary experience and he will play a vital role in maintaining the property’s position as a dining destination. Bekris adds “I’m thrilled to join Raffles Dubai and to be representing a brand I feel passionate about. This is a very exciting time for the property as it continues to gain ground both locally and internationally.”
Bekris first joined FRHI as Corporate Food & Beverage/Culinary Director of Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts in 2010 where he overlooked the brand’s worldwide F&B operations. Already familiar with Dubai, Bekris has also held leading culinary roles in The Address Dubai Mall and Kempinski Mall of the Emirates. Most recently, Bekris held the position of Group Executive Chef for the three FRHI properties in Kenya: Fairmont Mara Safari Club, Fairmont Mount Kenya and Fairmont The Norfolk.
An avid traveller with fluency in English and Greek, Bekris has throughout his career also co-authored several cookbooks including ‘Famously Mediterranean’ and won the coveted Chef of the Year category at the Taste Awards 2015 in Kenya. He holds a bachelor degree in Hospitality and Licensed Retail Management from the University of Wolverhampton in United Kingdom.
