Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.(R) (NYSE: HOT) today announced The Westin(R) Riverfront Resort & Spa - a 235-room full service hotel and resort facility, which is currently under construction and being developed by East West Partners - and The Westin Riverfront Mountain Villas, a 113-unit Westin vacation ownership resort being developed by Starwood Vacation Ownership. The entire mixed-use project will bring together the natural beauty of the region with The Westin brand's signature products and services, designed to help guests feel at their personal best.
Surrounded by mountains, The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa is anticipated to open in time for the 2008 ski season, followed shortly thereafter by the first phase of The Westin Riverfront Mountain Villas. The complex will include a spa and fitness facility, restaurants and approximately 4,700 square feet of meeting space. It will also feature a pedestrian-friendly retail plaza with shops, restaurants and a high-speed eight-passenger gondola that will transport skiers and snowboarders to the adjacent Beaver Creek Ski Resort Area.

The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa will offer the full array of The Westin brand's products, services and amenities. Guests will luxuriate in The Westin Heavenly Bed(R) and unwind with the help of Westin's new sensory welcome, consisting of a white tea scent, music, lighting and botanicals.
Starwood Vacation Ownership will develop a total of 113 two-bedroom (lock-off) vacation ownership units on the east and west sides of the hotel. The vacation ownership units will have full access to all hotel amenities, including concierge services, the ski valet and gondola, the park and the bike trail that will front Eagle River. Sales of The Westin vacation ownership resort will kick off by 2008. Starwood Vacation Ownership has developed two other highly successful vacation ownership resorts in Avon: Sheraton Mountain Vista and Lakeside Terrace.

With year-round attractions for outdoor enthusiasts, including access to world-class skiing, Avon is the ideal location for high-end vacation ownership. The first-ever gondola connecting Avon to nearby Beaver Creek will significantly enhance the vacation experience for ski-lovers by eliminating the need for ground transportation to the slopes.
East West Partners, a prominent local company with vast experience in mountain development, is the master developer of the project.
