Following its grand opening in October, Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport celebrates its first Christmas with festive cheer and good tidings to all. The hotels artful lobby will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland, the highlight of which is a huge Christmas tree. More than putting guests in the festive spirit, the tree will reach out to the community through a Christmas charity collection drive.

From 01 December 2010, guests can donate new or pre-loved gifts of toys, books and clothes to help make Christmas dreams come true for under-privileged children in the local community. Gifts can be passed to a member of the X-Team at the hotel Concierge desk (Tel: 86 10 6450 4806) and they will be cleaned and wrapped before being placed under the Christmas tree.

On 18 December, Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport will invite 30 children from Beijing’s Magic Hospital to join in the hotel’s staff family day celebrations. The children will participate in a fun-filled programme of activities and a Christmas buffet luncheon, culminating in the distribution of the collected presents to the Magic Hospital.

As part of the hotel’s close involvement in the local Beijing community, Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport has teamed up with the Magic Hospital, which works with sick, hospitalised, handicapped, orphaned, abused and at risk children aged 0-18 who are permanently or temporarily deprived of a carefree childhood. The Christmas toy-giving and family day celebration is an example of the Magic Hospital’s programme of fun, stimulating activities that aim to create a safe, nurturing, happy and hopeful environment for these special children to grow and thrive.

“We hope to raise awareness of the great work of the Magic Hospital in Beijing, and offer a chance for guests to share the spirit of the season as they enjoy the fabulous festive dining and celebrations happening in the hotel throughout the month – as well as bringing smiles to children’s faces this Christmas,” says Mark Francis, General Manager of Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport.
